Where is your office located?
Our headquarters is located at Unit 37, IMEX Business Centre, Loanhead, EH20 9LZ.
Rewires Queries
How long does a standard house rewire take?
Most standard 3-bedroom houses are completely rewired, plastered, and left paint-ready within 5 to 7 working days with minimal disruption.
Do you handle the plastering after chasing the walls?
Yes. Unlike other contractors who leave the walls rough, our turnkey service fully includes professional plastering and making good to leave a clean, paint-ready finish.
Will a rewire damage my carpets or floorboards?
We lift floorboards carefully along joists and lay professional protective sheeting over all carpets and furniture. Everything is swept, vacuumed, and restored at the end of each day.
EICRs Queries
How often do Scottish landlords need an EICR?
Private rental properties in Scotland legally require a valid EICR at least every 5 years, or at the start of any new tenancy — whichever comes first.
What happens if my property fails the inspection?
A failed EICR means C1 or C2 codes were observed. We will provide an itemized, fixed-price remediation quote same-day. Once approved, we resolve the issues and issue your compliant certificate.
Do you need to turn the power off during the EICR testing?
Yes. The electrical supply will be isolated in blocks during the 2-3 hour testing window to inspect circuit insulation and earth paths safely.
Renewables Queries
Are you OZEV approved for EV charger grants?
Yes. PowerSource is a fully OZEV-approved EV installer. We handle all grant application and Energy Saving Trust paperwork on your behalf so you receive any eligible government funding support seamlessly.
Can I install an EV charger if I live in a tenement flat?
Yes, but it requires specialised routing from high-up distribution boards down to ground bays, or dynamic load-balancing. We assess tenement feasibility on a case-by-case basis.
Commercial Queries
Do you work with main contractors on commercial programmes?
Yes. We deliver robust commercial electrical packages for builders and developers, managing first/second fix containment, 3-phase load-balancing, and fire alarm systems strictly on schedule.
