PowerSource Electrical Ltd ("PowerSource", "we", "us") is an electrical contractor based in Loanhead, Midlothian. We're the data controller for the personal information you give us through this website.

What we collect

When you use our quote form, or contact us by phone, email or WhatsApp, we may collect:

• your name
• your email address
• your phone number
• your postcode
• details about your property and the work you need (for example property type, the service you want, and anything you tell us about the job)
• anything else you type in the message box
• when you would prefer us to get in touch
• photos you choose to upload (for example of a consumer unit)

We also collect basic technical information when you visit the site (for example through cookies — see "Cookies" below).

We don't ask for payment details through this website.

Why we use it

We use your information to:

• reply to your enquiry and give you a quote
• arrange a survey, a visit or the work itself
• keep records of the work we carry out (for example certificates and test results) where you go on to book a job with us

We will only send you marketing (offers, news or reminders that you didn't ask for) if you have said yes to it. You can change your mind at any time.

Our lawful basis (UK GDPR)

• Responding to your enquiry and quoting: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and performing that contract if you book work (Article 6(1)(b)).
• Keeping job and certification records:our legal obligations and our legitimate interest in keeping accurate records of electrical work we've done (Article 6(1)(c) and (f)).
• Marketing emails or texts: only with your consent (Article 6(1)(a)), and in line with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). You can withdraw consent at any time.

How long we keep it

We won't keep your information for longer than we need it for these purposes.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal information.

We use a customer relationship management (CRM) system to manage enquiries and reply to them. The provider works for us as a data processor, under our instructions.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• ask us to correct information that's wrong
• ask us to delete your information
• ask us to restrict or stop using your information, or object to how we use it
• withdraw consent to marketing at any time
• ask us to transfer your information to another organisation (where this applies)

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): https://ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/. We'd appreciate the chance to put it right first.

Our website uses a cookie banner so you can accept or decline non-essential cookies. Your choice is stored in this browser under the name cookieConsent (local storage on your device, not sent to us as a tracking cookie). Essential cookies that make the site work are always on.

This build does not load Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager unless NEXT_PUBLIC_GA_ID or NEXT_PUBLIC_GTM_ID is set in the hosting environment. Those IDs are not set on the production project today, so those analytics cookies are not in use. If they are switched on later, this page will name them.
